Discount supermarket chain Aldi had committed to creating 5,000 temporary and 4,000 permanent roles across the UK.

In Wakefield, these roles include Store Assistants, Caretakers and Stock Assistants, though roles are filling fast.

According to their website, Asda are hiring almost 30 new workers across Wakefield and Leeds, including day and night workers, HGV drivers and more.

Across Wakefield, they are hiring stock assistants on a series of 4 week fixed-term contracts, with wages starting from £9.30 an hour.
