Wakefield's Purr and Mutt provide England team with royal pet portraits including Harry Kane's labrador, Jordan Pickford's cavapoo, and Eberechi Eze's shar pei
The company, which has been operating in its current format since 2019, provides pet-obsessed owners with custom made portraits of their beloved animals, ranging from royalty to superheroes to film and TV.
And there was a special request for an order made by the Football Association (FA) for Euro 2024.

Hide AdCommercial Director Gemma Rawson said: “The FA reached out to us and asked if we would help them to prepare their base camp for the Euros in Germany to personalise the hotel and make the team feel like it was a home away from home.”

The team were treated to regal renditions of their pets, including Harry Kane's Labrador, Jordan Pickford's Cavapoo, Eberechi Eze's Shar Pei and of course ‘King’ Dave the cat, who was the unofficial adopted mascot of the England team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
And whilst already successful – Gemma said the company expects to turn over £1.5 million this year – business has seen a major boost after the news broke about the company’s involvement in helping the England team feel more at home whilst based in Germany for the tournament.
Gemma said: “The viral aspect is massive.
"We have seen a 22 per cent increase in traffic to the site, orders have picked up and the general camaraderie across all social media, the opportunities are endless.”

Gemma said the portraits were not, as has been stated in some reports, generated by AI but were in fact handcrafted by Purr and Mutt’s design team before being sent across to the Continent.
Whilst the company is active in countries around the world, it is based in Wakefield, where all UK orders are processed and printed and where the company had its beginnings.
Gemma said after starting in 2019, the site “went bananas” once the Covid pandemic hit and is now looking to turn over £1.5 million this year.
The England team are next due to play Denmark on Thursday, June 20 in Frankfurt.
