Thomas Wales, Chief Executive of Wakefield BID, expressed his delight at the overwhelming positive response from both attendees and local businesses.

“The day was a huge success,” stated Thomas Wales. “The turnout and feedback from the public and businesses alike demonstrate the value and impact of events like the Wakefield Classic & American Car and Bike Show on our community.”

  • 93% of the public cited the event as the primary reason for visiting Wakefield City Centre, with 95% of businesses reporting that it met or exceeded their expectations.
  • An impressive 97% satisfaction rate was recorded among attendees.
  • 89% of respondents expressed their intention to return for next year’s event.
  • Survey results indicated that 39% of attendees are likely to spend money in retail establishments, 52% in cafes, and 22% in pubs, bars, and restaurants.
  • A notable 67% of businesses observed an increase in customers and revenue during the event.
  • The event also contributed to a significant 40% increase in footfall compared to the previous Sunday.
  • Most importantly, the event raised £1,161.73 in funds for Wakefield Hospice, underscoring the community’s generosity and support for a worthy cause.
