Football trials will take place on Friday, June 3, from 10am-3pm. For further information and to book your place at the trials visit www.ackworthschool.com/footballtrials.

With teams at under 19, under 16 and under 13, the school’s football academy is an elite football development programme for boys, directed by Jamie Fullarton, a former Premier League footballer and qualified UEFA Pro Licence coach.

The academy not only benefits from an internationally-renowned coach, it utilises the outstanding facilities at Ackworth School including five full-sized pitches, an all-weather pitch and an indoor training area.

The academy’s home ground is a nearby state-of-the-art 3G pitch.

Over the jubilee weekend, the School will be running football trials for keen players looking to join any of the three teams in September 2022 and secure one of the 100% scholarships available.

The day will include the opportunity to learn from the very best within a training session led by Jamie Fullarton himself, followed by a competitive game. Attendance is free and lunch will be provided for participants.

In close proximity to major clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton, academy players study for their GCSE’s or A Levels alongside taking part in at least 20 hours of training per week.

The education here isn’t limited to just playing however as those involved in the academy benefit from exploring alternative careers within the football industry including journalism, analysis and coaching.
