Have your say on the district's schools by joining Q&A session with Wakefield Council

Wakefield Question Time will take place on Monday, October 26 at noon where council leader, Coun Denise Jeffery, will be answering questions about the district's schools.

Coun Jeffery will be joined by Deputy Leader, Coun Jack Hemingway, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Coun Margaret Isherwood, Service Director for Education and Inclusion, Andrew Lancashire and Consultant in Public Health, Stephen Turnbull.

All people need to do is put their questions in the comments section on the live stream on Facebook and the panel will answers as many questions as possible during the one-hour session.

​Coun Denise Jeffery, Leader of Wakefield Council, said: "Our very first Wakefield Question Time was a huge success, with hundreds tuning in live on Facebook and thousands watching it back after the session.

"So, we've decided to bring it back on a regular basis. This time the theme is schools, a topic that is very important to lots of our residents, particularly at the moment during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"If you have a question, please tune in and we will answer as many as we can. I look forward to hearing from our residents once again."

​Coun Jack Hemingway, Deputy Leader of Wakefield Council, said: "It is fantastic that we are going to be able to engage with our residents in such an interactive way once again and going forward.

"I hope it means we can reach more people and address any concerns our residents might have about the district's schools, especially during this difficult time."
