NHS data shows 118,950 people received a vaccine jab by March 7 – equating to 42% of those aged 16 and over, according to the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Of those vaccinated, 77,610 were aged 60 or over – 89% of the age group.

The data also reveals variation in coverage between different areas across Wakefield
The proportion of residents prioritised for vaccinations, such as those aged over 60, is one factor that could affect vaccine coverage.
Areas with the highest coverage:
1) Sandal, with 54.9% of people aged 16 and over given their first dose
2) Pontefract South West, 52.4%
3) Walton, Woolley & Bretton, 50.6%
Areas with the lowest coverage:
1) Wakefield St John's, 29.7%
2) Wakefield Central, 30.5%
3) Agbrigg & Belle Isle, 31.2%
