Anna Hartley, Wakefield Council’s Director of Public Health, said: “Four cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at Deep Sleep Beds in Ossett.

“We’re working closely with the business, and our partners, to do all we can to limit any potential further spread of the virus.

“The NHS test and trace system is now in place. Staff who require testing are being offered testing, and those that have been in contact with a positive case are self-isolating at home as a precautionary measure.”

Members of the public are advised to continue to follow Government guidance on regular handwashing and social distancing to help keep themselves and others safe.

Wakefield Council is encouraging businesses to get in touch for help and support if they have employees with symptoms, or staff that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Anna Hartley added: “If you suspect you have a case, whether it has been confirmed or not, please contact us as soon as possible and we can help you.

“We can support getting the NHS test and trace service up and running for your workplace and put measures in place to help limit any further spread within the workforce, to help lesson any impact on your employees and the business. The sooner you notify us, the sooner we can offer support.”
