Ossett pub could remain closed until next week after customer tests positive for coronavirus

A Wakefield pub could remain shut until Monday after a customer who visited tested positive for coronavirus.

The Railway Club on Station Road, Ossett, released a statement on its Facebook page that it would be closing after a customer told the management they had tested positive for Coronavirus.

The customer had visited the pub last Sunday before informing the club on Tuesday about the test result.

A statement on the Facebook page said: "Good morning from The Railway Club. Unfortunately we will have to close the pub for a couple of days.

"Hoping to open back up Sunday/ Monday. Due to a customer contacting us last night to say they had Covid.

"The customer in question was in late Sunday night. So down to the safety of our staff and customers which is our number one priority, we will be taking these couple of days to deep clean the building and all staff to be tested.

"Many thanks for your patience and understanding during these troubling times... Many thanks and stay safe."
