Wakefield club confirms staff member has tested positive for Covid-19 - but remains open

A Wakefield club has confirmed it will remain open to customers after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Wrenthorpe Sports and Social Club confirmed on Facebook that a member of staff had tested positive for the virus, and had begun isolating along with his household.

But the club has confirmed it will remain open, stressing that sanitisation and deep cleans are carried out regularly.

Staff will continue to "make the club a safe place to visit", they said.

The full post reads: "Unfortunately we must inform you that Mick has tested positive for Covid 19.

"Mick, Amanda and Emily are all self isolating for the required amount of time in line with Government regulations.

"The club will remain open and we would like to stress to all members that the club is sanitised to the highest standard possible and deep cleaned with Zoono, a sanitiser which lasts for 30 days, as well as regularly throughout the day.

"All of our staff will continue to look after you and make the club a safe place to visit, whilst following government regulations to make your visit to the club an enjoyable experience. Thank you."

It comes as a Pontefract working men's club also confirms a member of staff has contracted the virus.
