St Swithun's Community Centre in Eastmoor among Covid vaccination hubs in Wakefield

A community centre on Wakefield's Eastmoor estate will be among the venues administering the Covid vaccine, it's been confirmed.

St Swithun's on Arncliffe Road will be a hub for those invited to get the jab over the coming weeks.

The NHS stresses that members of the public will be contacted directly to arrange an appointment when it's their turn to receive the vaccine.

Individuals must not turn up at a vaccination hub without having been contacted first.

The news that St Swithun's will be involved in the rollout was confirmed at a meeting of Wakefield's Covid recovery board on Monday.

Other local venues already confirmed as vaccination centres are:

- Sandal RUFC

- King's Medical Centre, Normanton

- Castleford Civic Centre

- Church View Health Centre, South Kirkby
