Last week marked the 560th anniversary of the Battle of Wakefield, a bloody fight at Sandal Castle which led to the deaths of more than 3,000 men, including would-be King Richard, Duke of York and his son Edmund

Though this event is marked each year with a march through the city, it struck a particular chord this time, and an article in your Express exploring the significance of the fight has since been read tens of thousands of times online.
