Junctions, mirrors and speed - Wakefield learner drivers rack up hundreds of dangerous and serious faults during driving tests
Car sales company, Lookers, requested a new Freedom of Information Request to find out the top reasons for failing tests per city. This research was part of a larger study looking at the best and worst drivers, which can be found here.
The top reason for failing in Yorkshire was revealed as ‘not observing properly at a junction’, which totalled up over 6,000 Dangerous and Serious faults, with Wakefield having 357 faults for this manoeuvre.
Other major fails in Wakefield included:
Junctions - observation: 357
Mirrors - change direction: 193
Use of speed: 167
Move off - control: 159
Response to signs - traffic lights: 150
