The popular pizza restaurant is one of thousands which has been forced to close for much of the last year, in response to the pandemic.

But the chain has now confirmed which of its branches will reopen from April 12, in line with government guidance.

And its Castleford branch, as well as restaurants at Headingley and Birstall in Leeds, are on the list.

Bookings can be made via the Pizza Express website.

However, branches at Wakefield, Halifax, Crown Street, Leeds and Horsforth will remain closed permanently. Hospitality venues will be allowed to serve people outdoors once the government moves on to step two of its roadmap out of lockdown, which is expected no earlier than April 12.

It means that customers at Pizza Express and similar venues will be able to order food and drinks, though will be expected to order, eat and drink while seated.

Further restaurant reopenings are expected from May 17, when the government reached step three of the roadmap.
