Pitch and pint: Indoor golf course at Castleford's Xscape applies for permission to sell alcohol

A popular attraction at Castleford's Xscape may soon be allowed to serve alcohol.

Managers of the indoor golf course within the leisure complex have applied for permission to sell booze to thirsty putters.

Volcano Falls, as the family-friendly green is currently known, takes players across an 18 hole course as they encounter a dinosaur, a waterfall and an exploding volcano.

The course's managers, Funstation, have applied to Wakefield Council for a licence to sell alcohol between midday and 10.30pm, seven days a week.

Members of the public are are able to submit comments on the application to the council until April 23.
