Work begins on new 89 home development in Wakefield

Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire has begun construction on 89 new homes in Wakefield.

The upcoming development, named Newton Grange, is situated a mile and half north of Wakefield City Centre, just off Leeds Road,and will include a range of two to four-bedroom properties including eight affordable homes and a wheelchair accessible bungalow.

In December 2020, Wakefield Council’s planning and highways committee approved the proposals set out by Taylor Wimpey which complemented surrounding housing and offered house types which are currently in short supply.

The upcoming development, named Newton Grange, is situated just off Leeds Road and will include a range of two to four-bedroom properties.

Taylor Wimpey will be contributing £597,531.96 to the Community Infrastructure Levy and, as part of its commitment to helping and improving the local community in which it builds, the homebuilder will be providing a bus stop contribution of £20,000 which will go towards the provision of two Real-Time Information Boards at bus stop numbers 22222 and 22223 on Leeds Road.

Taylor Wimpey will also make a Metrocard contribution to the sum of £46,546 and a Traffic regulation order contribution of £5,000 to control parking and highway safety around the site.
