Ackworth Tennis Club has the best coach and best volunteer
Alice Robson, was named development coach of the year by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and club chairman Don Saul was recognised as volunteer of the year.
They both received their awards from LTA president David Rawlinson during a ceremony at Ackworth School.
Mr Saul said: "Ackworth Tennis Club is a success story based upon cooperation between people and organisations with a common aim.
“Ackworth school, Yorkshire LTA, and the Tim Henman Foundation provided the funding to allow the Club to employ a coach. The chairman, members of the committee and the Head of Ackworth school, Anton Maree, have been involved in supporting and facilitating our Head coach Alice Robson.

“It was an honour to have the president of the LTA come to Ackworth to present for the only time in the history of the LTA, two national awards to the same club."
Since Alice began coaching at the club ,membership has increased by over 1,200%.
And each week she coaches 80 club members and each year more than 2,000 school pupils from 17 primary schools receive free six week coaching courses .
The award ceremony was due to be held during Wimbledon fortnight but the socially distanced event took place at Ackworth School last month.
