Car parks at Wakefield country parks to stay closed over Easter weekend

Wakefield Council is reminding people that car parks are closed at parks and country parks across the district, to reduce people making unnecessary car journeys.

The government advice is that people stay local and use open spaces near to their home when exercising, and to not travel unnecessarily. They will remain closed until further notice.

Wakefield Council’s Acting Chief Executive Andrew Balchin, said: "Based on the Government's measures and advice from West Yorkshire Police, people should not be travelling by car to parks.

"It is essential that we all follow the Government measures, and seize this opportunity to help save lives. We ask everyone for their support to adhere to the car park closures.
