All aboard Harvey Bus

Youngster Harvey Robson was delighted to find his entry into a design competition had been printed onto his own bus.

The De Lacy Primary School pupil had entered into the Arriva Yorkshire’s school bus competition, which challenged youngsters to come up with a new design for the improved 410/411 route.

Harvey’s winning entry - which was chosen by public vote - was emblazoned on the bus, which drove into his school to surprise him last week.

He won a month’s worth of free travel on the 410/411 #HarveyBus, two complimentary Leeds Rhinos tickets and £100 of Xscape vouchers.

Harvey said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I can’t believe I have my own bus and I can’t wait to catch it directly into Leeds and Xscape to use my vouchers.”

Harvey was announced as the winner at a surprise ceremony at De Lacy, after which the bus went straight into service.

The first 411 passengers each received a free gift and West Yorkshire day saver.

“We hope Harvey’s friends, family and our customers will enjoy travelling on the new 411 bus, which runs up to every 15 minutes between Leeds and Chequerfield, with journeys starting from as little as £1, it’s a great way to get around.

“All of the entries we received were superb, we are grateful for the time and effort that went into these designs. It’s great to give something back to the local community, and #HarveyBus will certainly stand out from the crowd.”

The event was like being at the final of the X-Factor, waiting for the winning design to drive into school. I don’t think Harvey could have been more excited, and it was great to see his delight when he saw his design on a real bus.”
