BREAKING - Woman seriously injured after being hit by ‘rolling car’

A pensioner has been left with life threatening injuries after being hit by an unoccupied car in Pontefract.

Emergency services including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, police and fire crews were called to Tesco supermarket on Stuart Road at around 12.05pm.

A police spokesman said an elderly woman had been hit by a car that was believed to have been unoccupied.

He said: “It appears that no-one has been in the vehicle and it has rolled away and collided with a pensioner.

“She has life-threatening injuries.”
