Car goes up in flames on the M1

Firefighters were called to the northbound carriageway of the motorway at junction 42, Lofthouse, at 1.45 pm.

An Ossett fire station spokesman said the Citroen car was destroyed by the time they arrived. There were no injuries but the road was closed for 30 minutes whilst the vehicle was recovered.
