Burglar tried to hook keys through cat flap at Knottingley home
The homeowner from Ferrybridge Road in Knottingley was woken by a noise at 2.27am on Tuesday, January 5, so went downstairs to investigate and noticed the stick poking through the cat flap.
The would-be thief was trying to hook the keys left on a bench near to the door.

Hide AdThe home owner banged on the door and the male suspect made off.
The suspect is described as a white male, stocky build, age 20 to 30, 5ft 8" in height, wearing a cream woolly hat, sandy-coloured camouflaged hoody and grey tracksuit bottoms.
Police are advising people to remove keys from view of doors and windows and keep them in drawer or cupboard out of sight.
