Hotel worker threatened with hammer during robbery

Wakefield District CID is investigating and appealing for information following the crime at Hotel St Pierre on Barnsley Road on November 2.

It happened at about 3.56am after three masked men approached a member of staff who was stood outside.

They threatened the man with the hammer and forced him to take them inside and hand over cash.

The three men, who were all described as white, then fled, leaving the victim shaken but unharmed.

Enquiries remain ongoing and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw three men loitering outside the hotel before the incident or leave the scene.
