Man arrested after being found with a knife on busy Wakefield street
A man has been arrested after being found in possession of a knife on a busy Wakefield road.
Police were called at 6.30pm yesterday to reports of a concern for safety at a house on Batley Road, Wakefield.
Videos from the scene, close to the junction with Balne Lane, appear to show a number of armed officers and police dogs exiting a building on the street, before arresting a man.
And West Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that a man was arrested after being found in possession of a knife.
A spokesperson for the force said: "This was in relation to a concern for safety report at an address in Batley Road, which was reported at 6.30pm yesterday.
"A man was found in possession of a knife and was arrested. He remains in custody."
