Six arrests as 'substantial' cannabis farm uncovered in Wakefield city centre

Officers attended the property on Queen Street, Wakefield, at around 10.3am today (Tuesday, January 19).

Local residents said they had seen at least four police cars and two police vans parked outside the property, which has now been taped off to prevent public access.

And West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that officers uncovered what they believe to be a "substantial cannabis farm" at the property.

Six men have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Police remain on the scene, and enquiries are continuing, a spokesperson for the force said.
