Warning as burglary gang target numerous homes in a matter of hours.

Several burglaries and attempted break-ins were reported across the Wakefield area over a single night.

The incidents took place on Broad Acres and Fox Court in Durkar, Mackie Road in Crigglestone and Attlee Crescent in Sandal.

All incidents occurred overnight Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday.

Of the four burglaries, two of them resulted in entry being gained, and the other two were attempted burglaries with the thieves eventually aborting the break-in .

Three of the incidents saw the offenders damaging the rear door locks of the respective properties, one even had additional bolts installed internally so no access was gained, while the other attempted burglary was an attempt to prise open a window.

Offenders stole one car from a property and police suspect it was vehicles they were targeting.
