Weapons, suspected firearm and drugs found during police raid at Wakefield house

Wakefield Police found drugs, weapons and what is believed to be a firearm during a raid at a house in Wakefield yesterday.

Officers from Wakefield Central Neighbourhood Policing Team, led West Yorkshire Police Operations Firearms and Dogs Unit to a house in Portobello, yesterday (Sunday).

A warrant was issued to search the property in response to information they had received from the local community about drug dealing from the address.

Officers from the firearms unit forced entry into the house and conducted a search.

A quantity of what is belived to be Class B and Class C drugs were found inside, along with weapons and a suspected firearm.

The occupant, who was not home at the time, is being looked for by officers and investigations are ongoing.
