Distinctive watch among sentimental items stolen in burglary

A watch with distinctive engraving was among sentimental items taken in a burglary in Robin Hood.

Jewellery, a laptop and a mobile phone were also taken alongside the Longines mens wrist watch.

It was engraved on the rear of the face with the message ‘BL GABBITAS CONGRATULATIONS FROM LAL WEMBLEY 1965’.

The burglary took place on the morning of August 4 and detectives investigating the incident want to hear from anyone who may have been offered the items.

Det Con Steve Ellis, of Leeds District CID, said: “The items stolen were of great sentimental value to the victim and the watch in particular is very distinctive with its detailed engraving on the rear of the face.

“I am appealing for anyone who has been invited to buy the items, or who has seen them for sale to come forward.”
