Boathouse cafe at Newmillerdam Country Park may soon serve alcohol
Alcohol could soon be served at a popular country park cafe.
The Boathouse, at Newmillerdam Country Park in Wakefield, has applied for an alcohol licence.
Tea, coffee and snacks are already served at the cafe, which is housed in the Grade II listed building put up next to the park's lake in 1822.
An application put forward to Wakefield Council has requested permission to sell alcohol between 10 and 4pm from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 10am to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.
Members of the public have until March 20 to offer their opinions on the application to the council.
