Mystery location of new country park in 'heart' of Wakefield district to be revealed by council tomorrow
The council's deputy leader said full details of the scheme, including its location, would be announced as part of the budget on Wednesday.
Coun Jack Hemingway said the move was partly in response to the growing popularity of green spaces since the start of the Covid pandemic.

Hide AdSpeaking about the issue on a Facebook Q&A session on Tuesday, Coun Hemingway said: "People have turned to nature as a refuge, and for activity. It's one of the few things you can do during lockdown.
"We are investing in the green spaces we've already got, so we're looking at big improvement works in parks across the district.
"But we do need more green spaces. So we're planting trees, we're planting wildflower verges, but we do have plans to create a new country park.
"I'm not in a position to give any more details at the moment because it will be announced in the budget tomorrow.
