Featherstone crash friends suffered multiple injuries, inquest hears

Two friends from Featherstone died from multiple injuries after the car they were travelling in hit a tree at speed, an inquest heard this morning (Monday).

Callum Fretwell, 23, and Luke Spragg, 25, had been travelling down Wakefield Road towards Featherstone in a Ford Focus ST when the incident happened close to the junction with Common Side Lane at around 11.45pm on Friday, February 13.

The openings at Wakefield Coroner’s Court heard that both men died at the scene. Coroner David Hinchliff told the hearing that Mr Fretwell, who was driving the car, had previously suffered a seizure in 2009.

Both inquests were adjourned for further enquiries.
