Fire crews tackle deliberate house fire

Firefighters tackled what is believed to be a deliberate house fire in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Crews were called to Grove Avenue, South Kirby, at 2am in the morning.

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it looked as if a door had been knocked in and the fire started deliberately.

Nobody was in the property at the time.

Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet were used to extinguish the fire.

Crews left at around 4.15am.
