Fire crews tackle van fire in Knottingley

Firefighters tackled a van fire in Knottingley last night.

Crews from Pontefract were called to Womersley Road at around 11pm, where a transit van had been set on fire.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said police had been chasing the vehicle from the North Yorkshire area.

Crews used hose reels to extinguish the blaze and cleared the scene by midnight.
