Developer Bilfinger GVA wants to convert 18,500sqm of land on Flanshaw Way, Flanshaw, into industrial use.
But 47 objections have been made against the plans.
In a letter to case officer John Holmes, Mary Creagh said she had concerns over the size and location of the industrial units.
Other concerns by the 46 objectors include noise, pollution, residential impact and increased traffic.
Bilfinger GVA said the units could create 300 new jobs.
The application has been recommended for approval at Wakefield Council’s planning and highways committee meeting on Thursday.
