Gang of thieves steal car during series of burglaries in Sandal
A gang of thieves stole a Mercedes Benz from outside a home during a series of burglaries in Sandal.

The car was taken from Woolgreaves Drive at around 3am this morning.
The gang then broke into a home on Pledwick Crescent and began searching for car keys.
But they managed to escape when police officers arrived.
Police said there were also reports of other attempted burglaries in the area.

Insp Ian Williams, of the Central neighbourhood police team, said: “There were high value vehicles parked on the drives of all the addresses targeted and it is clear that this is what they were after.
“It is really important not to leave your keys in an obvious place downstairs, put them somewhere out of sight or keep them next to the bed. “
Two men, aged 22 and 25 were both arrested and are in police custody but detectives believe at least three more men were involved.
