George will be a Saint

A man who shares his name with the Patron Saint of England will be handing out gifts to children this weekend.

George Thomas will be dressed as St George outside Wakefield Cathedral on Saturday, informing families about the history of the Saint. A Scouts St George’s Day service will take place in the Cathedral at 2pm on Sunday. St George’s Day is officially marked on April 23.
