Havercroft and Ryhill youngsters love where they live
The children enjoyed free rides, competitions, sports activities with prizes and arts and crafts.
Adults took advantage of discounted dog chipping and picked up advice from partner agencies such as the police and Wakefield District Housing.

Hide AdThe event was part of the Wakefield Council Love Where You Live scheme and took place at the Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre on August 6. The annual event is run in partnership with Havercroft and Ryhill primary schools and councillors.
Coun Maureen Cummings, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for environment and communities, said: “The aim of the fun day was to bring the two villages together and celebrate what a great place to live both areas are. It was about inspiring local people to think about where we live and finding ways to transform and maintain it. If we work together we can make a real difference to where we live.”
