Johnny Marr to appear at Wakefield’s Warehouse 23

Marr - who was the group’s co-songwriter alongside Morrissey - launched his solo career last year following the success of his Top 10 debut solo album ‘The Messenger’.

He was the guitarist with The Smiths, a four-piece rock band, from 1982-1987 and was voted the fourth best guitarist of the last 30 years in a poll conducted by the BBC in 2010.

Marr will perform at the Smyth Street venue on Thursday, July 9. Doors open at 7pm.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, costing £24.
