Frances Day is launching her business venture, The Bird Board, in Wakefield on June 28.

The board will consist of experienced women who work together to provide solutions to real life work issues, such as staffing problems or introducing new products to the market.

Ms Day - who runs marketing agency Marketing Doctor - initially launched the Bird Board in 2014 after noticing a gap in the market.

She said: “Although friends and family mean well, they don’t have the experience and knowledge that other business owners have. Women not only have their own unique business challenges, trying to balance work with family and home life, they also naturally have nurturing and supportive personalities.

“It was important for me to create an environment where they felt safe in the knowledge that they could share anything that they needed to in a confidential environment.”

The first Bird Board in south Leeds has been a huge success, with similar boards in Halifax and north Leeds also going well.

Ms Day is now hoping to roll out the initiative in other cities in Yorkshire, with the eventual aim of creating a national network.

The board is limited to 12 members and meets once a month to work on a number of different business challenges.
