Kids head to London for world's biggest fun run

Thirty pupils from a South Elmsall school will take part in the world's biggest kids fun run this morning.

Youngsters from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Moorthorpe have headed to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London alongside 4,000 children.

Deputy headteacher Luke Welsh said: “It’s so important to get kids involved in sport, as it is a vital part of teaching them how to lead a healthy and happy life.

“I hope that taking part together, at such an amazing venue, will inspire them to want to stay active.

“Who knows, we may even have some future Olympic athletes in our midst!”

The event has been set up by GO Run For Fun.
