Run by Wakefield Together, the competition has been organised to raise awareness of Armed Forces Day which takes place on Saturday, June 28.

Coun Sandra Pickin, Armed Forces champion for the district, said: “This competition is a wonderful way for children to celebrate and honour those who have fought to protect our country and are still serving. We urge everybody to get creative and send their storyboards through – and of course they can win prizes as well.”

Entry is open to children aged four to 16. The winner will receive a £50 voucher and the runner up will get a £10 voucher. The winners will be presented with their prize at the Armed Forces Day event by Lord St Oswold. Visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/armedforces for details of how to enter.
