The gowns will be auctioned in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the hospice and to help raise funds.

Jane McDonald said: “When going through all these beautiful gowns, I was reminded of the fantastic times I had when wearing them. I actually had a lump in my throat when they were collected. I hope they make lots of money for Wakefield Hospice. Now it’s time to make new memories.”

The presenter has supported the work of the hospice for many years.

Keeley Harrison, fundraising manager at Wakefield Hospice on Aberford Road, said: “When Jane contacted us to say she wanted to donate some of her concert gowns for us to auction and raise funds for the hospice, we were thrilled.
