Man dies after being hit by a train near Huddersfield
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to the railway line between Deighton and Huddersfield station at 8.25am following reports of a person being struck by a train.
“Colleagues from West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service also attended, and a man, who we believe to be in his early 20’s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide Ad“His death is not being treated as suspicious, and officers are now working to identify him and inform his family.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The incident has caused major delays on the rails this morning and passengers are advised to check their journey before travelling.
