Man impaled in Wakefield city centre is rescued

Fire crews had to cut a man free in Wakefield after his leg became impaled on a fence.

Crews were called to the scene on Ings Road at 4.51am on Sunday morning.

Appliances from Wakefield and Ossett attended along with the technical rescue unit and support from Cleckheaton.

The rescue carried out by the fire service personnel and the man was left in the hands of paramedics.
