Metro’s Weekender ticket, at £8, allows people to take as many trips as they need between 6pm on Friday and midnight on Sunday.

It is being launched tomorrow (Friday), as an addition to the existing range of MetroCard products, which include MetroDay and DayRover tickets.

Metro chairman James Lewis said: “Weekender offers an ideal way for residents and visitors to West Yorkshire to get around, whether they are shopping or sightseeing, pulling or partying, rambling or raving.

“Weekender means that whatever you’re doing, for just £8 you can go out on the bus and have a good, good time.”

Bus companies have issued briefing material to their drivers to ensure they are aware of the new ticket when it starts this weekend.
