However, PCSOs Mark Wilde and Carl Brookes, who attended the scene of the incident, drove to the cinema and explained to staff what had happened to the family and managed to get them seats for the film's next showing.

West Yorkshire Police's Castleford Neighbourhood Policing Team said on Facebook: "They missed their showing due to the collision and the tickets were non refundable. PCSO Wilde and Brookes offered to travel to Cineworld and speak to the management on their behalf.

"The management at Cineworld were amazing, and having heard of the incident from us, provided the Officers with six complimentary tickets which were speedily handed over to the family."

The quad bike was confiscated by police.
