Wright side of life: Renewed hope and energy as we dare to plan ahead..
I feel full of the joys of spring, I have a spring in my step, spring is in the air ... so many phrases we use about spring.
It really is exciting when we get into March. We have everything to anticipate, especially this year with the vaccination rollout going so well. Also, with the road map Boris announced, we can all work towards unlocking our lives and enjoying a fabulous summer.
I had my first jab last week, hence the rather happy photograph. I think it shows how I am feeling. I booked my appointment on the NHS website and I chose my vaccination centre, day, and time. My appointment was the very next day. I also booked in for my second jab. Everything was so straightforward.
I did not even feel the jab go into my arm and have not had any side effects. We must keep in mind that we need to still adhere to rules regarding social distancing, masks and so on but hey, it is all feeling so much better already.
From a work point of view, I have been fortunate that I have been zooming such a lot. I teach baking recipes in online classes. However, since last week’s announcement I have also had engagements confirmed at food festivals in summer up and down the country.
I love the prospect of getting away again. I have booked the pitches for the caravan as far away as Longleat Caravan and Motorhome site in the grounds of the safari park! Apparently, you hear the lions roaring all around you!
This week I am doing online baking with the ladies from Horbury Tuesday group WI. We are making eclairs. I am really looking forward to seeing the members again, even if through my laptop screen.
You can’t beat the real thing and hopefully it won’t be too long before everyone can enjoy real gatherings. I know my mum misses her bridge group and bingo.
Hang on in there everyone, not long now!
