With just two days left to nominate and a new national lockdown in force its never been more important to pay tribute to the people who made a difference during the crisis.

Wakefield district Florence Nightingale Midwifery Team were praised for their efforts earlier this year.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought with it some of the biggest challenges our communities have ever faced.

But the commitment, dedication and ingenuity of local heroes has truly been a sight to behold.

To pay tribute to these unsung heroes JPIMedia has launched the inaugural Big Thank You Awards in Yorkshire, sponsored by Sovereign Health Care, to salute those who have gone the extra mile during the pandemic.

But we need YOUR help to find them.

Anyone is eligible to win an award - from NHS staff to local shopkeepers or volunteers. We are asking people to nominate their heroes for a Big Thank You Award. Nominations are open until November 12 and are submitted online at: www.bigthankyouawards.co.uk.

Winners will be presented with their awards during a virtual ceremony on December 11.
