Pedestrian struck by vehicle in early-morning Pontefract collision
A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle this morning in Pontefract that left a road closed for hours.
The emergency services were called to the scene on Wakefield Road, close the junction with Queens Avenue, at around 6.20am.
The female suffered injuries to arm and was taken to Pinderfields.
The carriageway was left blocked for several hours and traffic was being turned around at the scene.
