Community centre could be turned into bedsits
The Castleford Community Learning Centre could be turned into flats if planning permission is granted.
The two-storey town centre building sits next to the Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre, on the corner of Bridge Street and York Street.
The plans show a series of 18 studio bedsits and one-bedroom flats, complete with a lift to the first floor. Castle Asset Management is behind the plan.
A decision will be made by Wakefield Council’s planning department at a later date.
