Otis is an incredibly friendly lad and really enjoys being around both people and dogs. When he first arrived in kennels, his world fell apart and his anxiety manifested in humping people and grabbing at the lead when on walks. These behaviours became a very consistent coping strategy for Otis and made it difficult to do much with him, so our training and behaviour team set out to teach Otis some new strategies to help him cope with everyday life. Otis has done fantastically with his training, and he is more than ready to take the next step and find his forever home. Due to Otis living in kennels for a long time, we're looking for a home that he will be able to transition into easily without too much to get his head around. He is good with dogs, but we think it'll be easier to settle him in as an only pet. Once settled however, there's potential that another dog could be introduced in time. He is looking for an adult only home with few visitors. He is worried about heavy traffic, so can't live directly on a m Photo: Dogs Trust
Pepe is looking for a home with her best friend Sammy. This adorable duo like to do everything together and will make a fun & loving addition to their forever family. Pepe is laid back but still has a playful side, she loves a good squeaky toy and sniffing every blade of grass on her walks. Sammy is an active little dog who loves a good game of ragger. He can be a little vocal at times & is a fun loving little dog with his best friend by his side. Pepe & Sammy can live with sensible children over the age of 14 years. They would prefer to remain as the only pets in the home and with owners that can be around most of the day initially to help settle them in. They are friendly with dogs out and about but Sammy can be quite vocal so better walked in quieter areas. Ideally they need to be walked with 2 people present as they are both quite different on lead but don't like to be separated for exercise. They would like a home with a secure garden to explore. Little Phoebe is 7 years old and full of sassy character. She takes a good while to bond with new people so any potential adopters must be patient and willing to put in the time and effort for multiple visits to the centre. She isn't one for too much fuss, but once she has a strong relationship she will lap up all the attention! She is sociable with other dogs and enjoys spending time with her doggy friends, but she does not enjoy sharing the limelight at home so must be the only pet in her home. To her, toys are absolutely everything and she's undergoing training to help her share them, otherwise she can be quite possessive. Overall she is very loving, loyal and playful and although she needs a little work, the rewards will be well worth it. Little Pheebs needs very special owners who are around all the time initially. She will also need a lot of time and patience to settle her in to her new life, but our team will be there to assist you. She needs quite a specific environment to call home. It must be adult Photo: Dogs Trust
Stanley is an intelligent and beautiful chap. He is a big lad with a solid build, and he can be strong on lead at times. Stanley has previously been rehomed and returned to us due to his behaviour. Because of this, he is looking for an owner with dog experience, time on their hands, an interest in training and behaviour, and who has a Stanley-sized-space on their sofa! He is worried by new faces so introductions need to be gradual and walking areas carefully chosen. His new owners would need to commit to doing multiple meets to get to know Stanley before he could go home.
Stanley is one of our more complex residents so owners will be taking on a project, however there are lots of wonderful things about him too - Stanley loves to use his brain and so is very eager to learn new things. He loves food and will happily show off all his tricks to impress if there is a tasty treat on offer. Stanley will lunge and bark at unfamiliar dogs if they're too close and so will need to be walked in quieter areas where he can Photo: Dogs trust
